About Almeria
The Province of Almeria, part of the Andalucian region of Southern Spain, offers the warmest and driest climate to be found in Europe. Warm and dry throughout the year with little rain and over 3,000 hours of Sun, makes Almería an ideal all year round location for a holiday or to live.
Add to this the 190 kilometers of unspoilt coastline which ranges from dune belts spread with salt ponds to the cliffs and isolated coves of the Cabo de Gata mountain range. All the beaches offer fine sands, crystal clear water and are so plentiful that it is still possible to find yourself alone on some of the most spectacular coastline in Spain.
Roquetas de Mar, the largest resort in the Province is some 20 kilometers away from the main City of Almería and 30 kilometers from the International Airport. The Resort of Roquetas de Mar and Playa Serena boasts long beaches, hotel complexes, restaurants and bars of various nationalities, and a wide variety of shops and services to cover all needs. An 18 hole Golf Course is situated in Playa Serena and another 2 are within 20 kilometers. Windsurfing and Para gliding are also popular sports around the resort.
